WRO2040 living on a higher level

The city of Wrocław, overfilled with traffic, has stopped being a convenient place to live. Wrocław'09 is a city of cars. Therefore this proposition initiates bringing the city back to its inhabitants and not giving up on the comfort of individual transport at the same time. The aim is to live better and more comfortably - on a higher level. WRO2040 project introduces new urban level - containing plazas, streets and dividing pedestrian and cycling routes from motor traffic. The existing streets and junctions are only supposed to serve collision-free motor traffic, whereas for the pedestrians a new urban floor, overhanging six meters above, would be created. It would also be used as public and recreation space and be enhanced with new means of public transport. That way the unburden city ground floor would get new, roofed parking space.
