The spatial concept for the performing art complex relates to the basic attributes of a theatre - the curtain and the stage. The curtain, acting as a closing and revealing screen brings in a factor of mystery, excitement and expectation. The stage - area behind the curtain - concentrates attention and arranges the space around. The complex - the musical theatre and additional services, such as restaurant, hotel, music library etc. have all been walled with a unified facade, hiding the inner stages. The stages have gained different functions according to their location:
City Stage - is a common accessed glazed, roofed inner courtyard that leads us to theatre, restaurant, hotel, etc.
Audience Stage - the main foyer of the theatre, a two-storey-high circular space with entrance stairway
Theatre Stage - the actual stage of the Capitol theatre, enlarged and reorganized using modern technologies
Employees Stage - integrating and recreating atrium for the theatre employees
The building facade figuratively refers to a curtain. Its pleatings and foldings have been transformed into a vertical relief. The outer divisions confront the inner parting where the southern glazed part has been prepared for employees whereas the northern part coated with stone suits the needs of audience and users.
